There is more than one way to strengthen a grandfamily.
Some people come to Building GRAND-Families because they need support. Others arrive because they want to help. We welcome community involvement that respects family privacy, avoids judgment and contributes something useful.

Volunteer opportunities can include family events, program support, outreach, administrative help or other project-based needs. Roles involving direct contact with children or families may require screening or additional safeguards depending on the activity.

Community organizations and businesses may be able to help with family activities, educational resources, transportation, food, supplies or other program costs. We look for support that fits the needs of families rather than creating unnecessary promotional pressure around children.

Individuals can support the work through the secure Zeffy donation page. If you are interested in organizing a community fundraiser, sponsorship or larger contribution, contact us first so we can make sure the activity fits the organization's current policies and registration status.
What we ask of everyone involved
- Respect the privacy and dignity of children and caregivers.
- Use inclusive, non-judgmental language about parents and family circumstances.
- Follow program safety, confidentiality and screening requirements.
- Do not photograph or identify children without appropriate authorization.
- Recognize that lived experience belongs to the family, not to the organization or volunteer.
